Copyright Overseas Promotion Association (COA) was invited as a panelist at the special program titled “International Rights Holders' Perspectives on Content Protection Strategies and Synergies,” held on May 3, 2025, in Mumbai, India. Hosted by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and a global content protection leader, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the event gathered industry leaders for in-depth discussions and meaningful dialogue on copyright protection.
Panelists participating in the special program at the World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025
This program was part of the “World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025,” held under the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jointly organized by India’s Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, MPA, and ACE, the summit brought together key stakeholders from global film and television studios, as well as major OTT platforms.
During the panel, experts presented insights on :
● Types and challenges of online copyright infringement (ACE)
● Analysis of copyright infringement cases involving Japanese animation in India (CODA)
● Challenges and case studies from the perspective of content producers (Liri Bridge Studio)

Itae Choi, Executive Director of COA, addressed the issue of the “hopping sites,” a prevalent method used by piracy websites, while highlighting COA’s successful site-blocking cooperation, citing COA’s collaborative initiatives with MPA, ACE, and CODA as key countermeasure against piracy.
