Operating an automatic monitoring system to respond to overseas copyright infringement
To combat the widespread online illegal distribution of Korean content and safeguard the rights of copyright holders, COA has set up a 24-hour automatic monitoring system.
Additionally, COA has been actively and systematically implementing protection measures, which include removal requests for illegal content and takedown notices.
Countermeasure to Copyright Infringement
STEP 01
Collect K-Content to be protected and list copyright-infringing websites
STEP 02
Detect infringing content using automatic monitoring system
STEP 03
File a Takedown Notice upon confirmation of the infringement
STEP 04
Implement follow-up measures including litigation against malignant, non-compliant infringers
STEP 05
Proceed regular supervisions and analysis on monitoring progress
STEP 06
Re-issue the Notice to remove the illegal content to those who do not comply with the original request
